New Eskom YES Programme Intake 2026: 12-Month Customer Service Roles for Youth

Eskom has officially launched a new recruitment drive under the Presidency’s Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative. The Siyabuswa Hub (LimLanga Cluster) is currently looking for three energetic YES Learners to join their Retail and Customer Service department for a 12-month life-changing experience.
This opportunity is part of Eskom’s commitment to addressing the youth unemployment crisis by providing first-time work experience in the heart of South Africa’s energy sector.
What You’ll Be Doing at the Siyabuswa Hub
As a YES Learner in the Retail Customer Service division, your day-to-day will involve:
- Customer Engagement: Handling inquiries and supporting the service needs of the local Siyabuswa community.
- Energy Industry Exposure: Gaining a deep understanding of how the national power utility manages retail operations.
- Professional Development: Building a foundation of workplace skills that make you highly employable once the 12-month contract concludes.

Student Desk Exclusive: 3 Tips to Land an Eskom YES Placement
Drawing from our analysis of previous successful Eskom applications, here is how to stand out:
- Emphasize Your Local Roots: Eskom is prioritizing local candidates for the Siyabuswa Hub. Mentioning your ties to the LimLanga Cluster or Mpumalanga region in your application can be a major advantage.
- Highlight Customer Service Skills: Since this is a “Retail” role, any previous experience (even volunteer work) involving people, communication, or conflict resolution is vital.
- Accuracy in Documentation: The 2026 recruitment process is highly automated. Ensure your Grade 12 certificate is clearly scanned and that your ID number is entered correctly to avoid being filtered out by the system.
