🚀 Student Desk Expert Insight: Why “Maths & Science” is the Key
This isn’t a general admin internship. SGS is a technical giant, and they are looking for specific analytical potential:
- The Laboratory Path: With a focus on testing and verification, you will likely be assisting in labs. This is why Mathematics and Science are non-negotiable—you will be dealing with sampling, calculations, and testing methods daily.
- Operational Exposure: You won’t just be behind a desk. Interns are expected to assist with fieldwork, maintain workshop cleanliness, and ensure all safety (SHEQ) procedures are followed on-site.
- Relocation Readiness: The roles are specific to Randfontein and Barberton. If you don’t live in these areas, the advert clearly states you must be willing to relocate. Highlight your flexibility in your application to stand out.
