Aircraft Trimming

This trade involves the manufacturing, repair, inspection, and maintenance of aircraft interiors. Learners also gain exposure to survival equipment used in aircraft operations.

Aircraft Composite Structures

Learners in this field are trained to manufacture, repair, inspect, and maintain aircraft composite components. Composite materials are widely used in modern aircraft, making this a highly specialised and in-demand skill.


How the Programme Works

Once selected, learners undergo a structured training process that includes both theoretical learning and practical workplace exposure. Training takes place within SAA Technical’s approved environments and follows industry and regulatory frameworks.

The programme is designed to build technical competence, workplace discipline, and safety awareness. Participants are expected to follow instructions carefully, work as part of a team, and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.


Educational Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following qualification options.

Option 1: Matric Route

Grade 12 (Matric) with:

  • Mathematics at 50% or higher, or
  • Physical Science at 50% or higher
  • English (symbol required)

Option 2: N3 Route

N3 Certificate with:

  • Mathematics at 50% pass
  • Engineering Science at 50% pass

Knowledge and Skills Required

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Basic understanding of technical or mechanical concepts
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Good communication skills

A background or interest in technical environments is considered an advantage.

All assessments and interviews for this intake will take place in Gauteng. Applicants are advised to use their permanent residential address when submitting their application.

If no feedback is received by 30 April 2026, the application should be regarded as unsuccessful.
